I am a geographer. This means that I study planet Earth and processes that take place at or near its surface. This blog is dedicated to my home country, Russia. I hope you will enjoy learning more about Russia's geography. Did you know that Russia is the biggest country in the world by area? It is about as large as Canada and the United States combined. At the same time, its population is only 9th largest, behind China, India, Indonesia, United States, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria. I will use this blog to update you on many details about geography of Russia and its Neighbors (countries of the former Soviet Union).
Now you may want to ask why would I write this blog about Russia in particular. You see, I get asked a lot about Russia and I noticed that most of the questions are rather similar. Thus, I decided it is finally time to go online and allow my readers ask questions so that others can see them (and my answers) too!
